About this file
This document is a description of a single-source purchase opportunity posted by the Florida Department of Health's Bureau of Public Health Laboratories (BPHL) for Illumina reagents and services. BPHL requires the Illumina MiSeq, iSeq, and NextSeq system reagents and services to support outbreak detection activities for enteric and viral diseases as required by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). BPHL is requesting authorization to purchase these reagents and services as a single source from Illumina, Inc. for an estimated $6,000,000 over a 3-year term.
Illumina, Inc. is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the required MiSeq, iSeq, and NextSeq system reagents and services, which are the only CDC-approved kits for testing SARS-CoV-2, HIV, Hepatitis A, TB, and foodborne pathogens. Maintaining continuity with these specialized reagents and services is in the best interest of the state. The posting requests information from prospective vendors on their ability to supply the required commodities and services.
