About this file

This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (Form PUR 7776) from the Florida Department of Health's Bureau of Public Health Laboratories (BPHL). The BPHL is requesting authorization to purchase software configuration, maintenance, and support services from LabWare, Inc. for their existing Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) on a sole-source basis. The LIMS software is used by the BPHL to manage their laboratory operations. The requested services include software maintenance and support, consulting, and programming to maintain the system and implement enhancements. The contract term is 3 years. The estimated dollar amount for the services is $14,600,000. The justification for the sole-source acquisition is that LabWare, Inc. is the sole equipment manufacturer and distributor of software upgrades, modifications, and maintenance for the LabWare LIMS system, and has exclusive rights to all upgrades, modifications, and enhancements needed to maintain continuity of these integrated systems.
