About this file
This document describes a single-source purchase opportunity from the Florida Department of Health's Bureau of Public Health Laboratories (BPHL) for BD FACSCount Reagent and Control kits. The BPHL requires these kits to perform CD4/CD8 counts used in AIDS patient management, as the kits are the only FDA-approved option that does not require a Complete Blood Count (CBC) prior to testing and allows for 48-hour sample aging, which aligns with the BPHL's existing protocols. BD Biosciences is the sole distributor of these kits and reagents. The estimated value of the one-year contract is $100,000.
The contract opportunity covers the jurisdictions of Leon County and Tampa City in the state of Florida. Prospective vendors have until April 12, 2023, to provide information regarding their ability to supply the required commodities or services. If it is determined that the items are only available from a single source, the agency will provide notice of its intended single-source purchase decision.
