About this file

This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) from the Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Public Health Laboratories. The Department is requesting authorization to purchase, as a sole source, Aptima HIV-1 RNA QuantDx assay testing reagents from Hologic Genprobe Sales & Services ("Hologic") for a 3-year term. The reagents are required to perform quantitative HIV-1 RNA tests and are compatible with the Department's existing Aptima HIV-1 RNA QuantDx assay system. The total estimated dollar amount for the 3-year term is $819,720 ($273,240 per year). Hologic is the sole manufacturer and distributor of the required HIV-1 RNA kits and reagents.

The justification for the single source acquisition is that the Aptima HIV-1 RNA QuantDx assay system is existing equipment owned by the Bureau of Public Health Laboratories, and there are no other reagents that can be used on this system for the required testing. Prospective vendors are requested to provide information regarding their ability to supply the required commodities or contractual services by January 25, 2023, after which the agency will make a final determination on the single source acquisition.
