About this file

This Scope of Work document outlines bottle exchange services for the Reverse Osmosis/Deionization (RO/DI) water system operated by the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) at its laboratory facility in Austin, Texas. The contractor shall provide monthly regeneration and exchange of eight (8) 14" x 47" Mixed Bed Deionizers (Model DM14U) that supply ultra-pure laboratory-grade water for public health testing. The scope requires the contractor to deliver and pick up DI exchange bottles monthly, replace tanks within 48 hours if a breakthrough occurs (indicated by the resistivity meter light changing from green to red), perform tank and bottle regeneration, and troubleshoot polishing bottle issues including leaks. The contractor must respond to emergency situations within 16 hours of notification and deliver fault-free tanks within 48 hours, with service available 365 days per year. The service includes delivery, disconnection, connection of all bottles to the RO system, and completion of service reports within 72 hours of work completion. All parts must be factory-approved, and in the event of resin failure, the contractor shall replace resin at no additional cost to DSHS.

The contract is invoiced monthly and includes 12 annual exchanges of the eight rental tanks, resulting in 96 tank exchanges per year total. DSHS reserves the right to add or remove equipment as needed. All costs associated with travel, delivery, labor charges, and tank replacement are to be included in the contract pricing. The scope does not specify pricing terms, set-asides, contract duration, or renewal options in this document; however, the monthly invoicing structure and year-round service requirement indicate an ongoing operational support agreement with continuous service obligations.
