WILDLAND LLC
WRP EMBANKMENT REPAIR
PROJECT NARRATIVE
A sheet piling weir structure spillway that was installed on the Wildland WRP is leaking around the south side. The leak has been determined to be caused by muskrats. NRCS is planning on removing about a foot and a half of the existing sheet piling cap on both ends of the sheet piling structure in order to attach an extra 30’ of sheet piling to both sides of the structure. The extra sheet piling should discourage any future rats from burrowing alongside the weir structure.
The existing berm south of the weir structure is failing due to muskrat holes. The existing berm was never built to NRCS standards. NRCS is planning to install a berm with a 16’ wide top and 5:1 front and back slopes on the berm. This will provide an adequate berm that will meet NRCS standards. Fill material for the new berm will be obtained from a planned scrape on the SE corner of the easement.
