About this file
This is a Special Terms and Conditions exhibit for an agricultural lease agreement with a state entity involving farmland in Daviess County. The tenant is required to plant 250 acres of neonicotinoid-free field corn annually across specified sections in Township T1N, Range 6W, with three rows of unharvested corn left standing in each field for wildlife benefit. Additionally, Field N-27 requires three one-acre blocks of standing corn for wildlife purposes, with the property manager marking these blocks post-emergence and assisting with boundary identification during harvest. The tenant must establish cover crops on all leased fields using a property manager-approved seed mix planted within the designated regional planting window, with failure to meet planting deadlines resulting in assessed damages and potential lease forfeiture. Fields M-9W and M-7 require winter wheat cover crops following harvest in their respective production years.
All seed used for crops and cover crops must be free of neonicotinoid compounds including cothianidin, dinotefuran, imidacloprid, and thiamethoxam. The tenant is prohibited from applying restricted use pesticides to any crops on the leased property and must submit seed information and chemical lists to the property manager prior to planting each contract year for written approval. The tenant bears responsibility for providing evidence of neonicotinoid-free seed procurement and obtaining advance approval for all pesticide applications to ensure compliance with the lease's environmental and soil health objectives.
