About this file

This is an Exhibit A document detailing Jackson Trap Insert Specifications from the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), updated 11/15/13. The specifications outline requirements for insect trap inserts used to collect specimens in Jackson traps that are exposed to rainfall, sunlight, and high temperatures. The insert must be made of white, bleached sulphate paperboard with polyplastic coating, measuring 6 1/4 inches by 3 11/16 inches with 70-degree acute angles. The insert includes one-inch square grids on the inner glued side, an embossed center crease for folding, and must be coated with Stickem Special™ glue manufactured by Seabright in Emeryville, CA.

The packaging requirements specify that completed inserts must be bundled in groups of 25 with rubber bands, with 40 bundles per box for a total of 1,000 inserts per shipping container. Each container must be labeled with manufacturer information, product details, quantity, lot number, manufacture date, and CDFA purchase order number. The vendor awarded the bid must request Jackson trap bodies from CDFA's Pest Detection/Emergency Projects office in Anaheim for fitting purposes. Any damaged cartons during transit will be replaced by the vendor at no cost to CDFA.
