About this file

This is a technical specification document for Level III Ballistic Shields required by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department SWAT team in Ohio. The shields must be rectangular in shape with dimensions between 20" to 23" wide and 34" to 38" long, weighing no more than 25 lbs including all components. Each shield must feature a see-through ballistic viewport measuring at least 2.5" high by 8.5" wide, an integrated LED light with minimum 1000 lumens capacity offering off/on/strobe functionality, and a transport bag for protection and portability. The shields must meet or exceed NIJ Level III Ballistic Shield Standards and demonstrate special threat round testing capabilities against 7.62mm X 51mm (M80), 7.62mm X 39mm PS Ball (MSC), and 5.56mm X 45mm (M193) ammunition. Additional design requirements include a hard/solid primary handle system fixed horizontally to the shield, ballistic thickness of less than one inch (excluding viewport and light components), reinforced fasteners that maintain ballistic integrity, and padding on the backside below the handle to support operator forearms.

The specification document does not include information regarding pricing terms, quantities being procured, response deadlines, award dates, contract duration, funding sources, or set-aside provisions. These details would typically be contained in the associated solicitation or bid documents rather than in this technical specification file.
