100.01 - Contractor –Furnished Items The contractor will furnish all herbicides, adjuvant, and (optional) dyes. Herbicide containers and labels will be inspected by the COR before use to ensure they have the equivalent active ingredients of the chemicals listed on the Schedule of Items (attached). Water for herbicide mixing will be available at the Ackerman Work Center only for the initial fill up. All alternate water sources that the contractor would like to use must be approved by the COR prior to use. Contractor must be able to refill equipment on site using their own equipment/resources (i.e. water tender or clean water tank as described in 100.01b).
The contractor will furnish all permits required by law, labor, transportation, supervision, materials, equipment, and personal protection equipment needed to complete the contract. This includes but is not limited to mixing containers and tanks, clean water source tanks, low pressure sprayers equipped with an applicator for direct foliar use.
100.01a - Storage tanks must be equipped with watertight lids, agitators, and must have a control valve attached directly to the outlet on the tank. Agitators must affix to the tank and be able to perform independently while tank lid is closed. This specification is intended to reduce worker exposure to herbicide and to reduce potential for accidental herbicide spills.
100.01b– Contractor will be expected to have a second storage tank on site that is used for clean water only. This tank is to provide water to herbicide storage tanks for mixing only the amount of herbicide solution expected to be used during that day.
100.02 - Permits and Responsibilities for the Work The contractor shall, without additional expense to the Government, be responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses, certifications and permits, and for complying with any applicable Federal, State, and municipal laws, codes, and regulations in connection with the use of pesticides under this contract.
100.02b - Training and Certification Successful bidder will comply with all Federal and Mississippi State laws relating to the commercial, for-hire, application of pesticides. Successful bidder will be required to show proof of appropriate applicator certifications, licensing and bonding as required by those laws. Contractor will ensure that all label requirements are met by the crew during the performance of their work.
