About this file
This document is an addendum to a state and local contract opportunity for the roof replacement of the Sea Aggie Center at Texas A&M University-Galveston. The addendum provides detailed specifications for the base proposal, which includes a full reroof of Roof Areas A and B, and an alternate proposal to provide a roof coating on Roof Areas C, D, and E. The work involves removing the existing roofing system down to the metal deck, installing a tapered insulation system, a PVC roof membrane, new gutters and downspouts, and providing various flashing and parapet wall improvements. The contractor must also provide a 20-year manufacturer's warranty. Proposals are due by April 2, 2024, and the contractor will be required to provide a construction schedule and execute the contract within 10 business days of notification of award. The addendum also includes unit pricing for removal and replacement of nailers, metal deck, and a through-wall flashing system. Contractors are required to include a $15,000 contingency in their base proposal bid.

Answer: Notes 10 and 11 were removed for clarity.
Question: During the site walk we observed that there is no existing metal coping, instead there is an existing stone coping in place. Please provide scope of work to be implemented over the parapet wall.
Answer: Thru-wall flashing was determined to be the requested base flashing and coping detail. The existing stone cap and brick wall will not be touched.
