About this file
This document is an addendum to a Competitive Sealed Proposal (CSP) issued by Texas State University for the Centennial Hall-Waste Pipe and Water Closet Replacement Project-2024. The project involves the replacement of cast-iron drain, waste, and vent pipes, including horizontal and vertical pipes, as well as the replacement of water closets. A pre-proposal walkthrough was held on November 28th, 2023, where questions were answered regarding the scope of work, inspection responsibilities, access to plumbing and restrooms, and the handling of demolition debris and material storage. The university will allow all restrooms to be shut down at the same time, except for the first-floor faculty/staff and ground floor restrooms, which can be coordinated for weekend closures.
The contract will be awarded to a general contractor firm, and the university will provide a location for a dumpster and storage container, though the contractor is responsible for any loss or damage to materials stored on campus. The university has prohibited the use of trap guards in labs, and all cast-iron DWV pipes must be replaced, even if not shown on the plans.
