About this file

This document is a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by Forney Independent School District (FISD) for Food Service Printers. FISD is seeking desktop-sized, black & white Multifunction Peripheral (MFP) devices for use in their Food Service Manager offices, along with a maintenance and supply contract for each device. The district requires the printers to integrate with their existing PaperCut print management system. FISD has designated the Kyocera ECOSYS MA4500ix as the reference model, but vendors may propose alternative options. The RFP requests pricing for 20 MFP devices, 20 PaperCut licenses, and a 60-month maintenance and supply contract. Proposals are due by 9:00 AM CT on November 27, 2024, and the expected delivery date for the equipment is prior to February 1, 2024.

The RFP specifies pricing options for a 60-month lease or full upfront purchase of the MFP devices. FISD will evaluate proposals based on factors including purchase price, vendor reputation, quality of goods/services, fit with district needs, past relationship, long-term cost, and ability to meet delivery timeline. FISD reserves the right to award the contract to the proposal that offers the best overall value to the district, and to consider line-item awards if no single proposal meets all requirements.

The contractor, not the district, is responsible for contacting DPS directly to set up an account for the purposes of obtaining criminal history record information. Under the statute SB 9, a contractor is required to conduct a criminal history review on an employee only when the following criteria have been met:

The particular employee will have continuing duties relating to the contract with the district.

The particular employee will have contact with students.

A contractor or sub-contractor may not work on District property or any location the District deems a place where students are regularly present when they have been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor involving moral turpitude, as defined by Texas law, they have charges pending, they have been convicted, received probation or deferred adjudication of any of the following:

1. Any offense against a child,

2. Any sex offense,

3. Any felony offense involving controlled substances,

4. Any felony offense against property,

5. Any other offense the District believes might compromise the safety of student, staff or property.

A Proposer's violation of this section shall constitute substantial failure. If the Proposer is the person or owner or operator of the business entity, that individual may not self-certify regarding the criminal history record information and its review, and must submit original evidence acceptable to the district with this Agreement showing compliance.

Possession of fire arms, alcohol and/or drugs, even in vehicles, is strictly prohibited on school/district property. The use of tobacco products are not allowed on school district property.
