Questions & Answers Olmito Sidewalk Improvements Project

Bid No. 230902

CSJ: 0921-06-326

Federal Project No.: STP 2024(409)TP

1. Question: Is there an estimated cost range?

Answer: $314,563.05

2. Question: On the engineering plans it seems to show that the sidewalk is to be placed by the fence but it cannot go there because of the easement. We suggest it to be about 4 feet from the street, it would be a better location for it.

Answer: Field adjustments can be made if necessary. Change in alignments will not be made at this time.

3. Question: On Typical Sections Sheet #9 on Tomas Cortes Jr. Street Proposed Section the width of the new proposed sidewalk shows 6 feet instead of 5 feet, it is not a big section.

Can you please clarify that?

Answer: The sidewalk shall be 6 feet wide for areas adjacent to a curb. Please refer to TxDOT Roadway Design Manual Chapter 3 Section 7.3.3.2.1 under Curbed Roadways.

4. Question: Does the contractor have to be prequalified with TxDOT?

Answer: Bidders must be TxDOT pre-qualified. Bidders will also need to submit a confidential questionnaire to TxDOT 14 days before the bid opening.
