About this file

This document is an Addendum for a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) issued by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) for professional architectural and engineering (A/E) services to design and construct a 200-bed replacement hospital in Wichita Falls, Texas and a new 75-bed hospital in Amarillo, Texas. The projects are estimated to cost $300 million and $100 million, respectively, and the A/E services are procured separately. The RFQ has a mandatory pre-submittal conference on September 5 and 6, 2023, with responses due by September 20, 2023. Respondent interviews are scheduled for October 16, 2023, and the anticipated notice of award is November 9, 2023.

The construction costs are not included in the A/E services fees. HHSC has yet to acquire land for the Amarillo project, and the design scope may include site selection and analysis. The projects aim to provide high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered care in safe environments that protect patients and employees, support disease management models, and allow flexibility in space utilization and life-cycle sustainability.
