About this file
This is a specifications attachment for a solicitation issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Air Monitoring Division (AMD) to procure replacement membrane filters for air monitoring stations. The TCEQ operates these stations to collect air monitoring data required under 40 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 58 by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA). The solicitation specifies Millipore Mitex membrane filters with precise technical requirements, including a 47 mm diameter, 5.0 micrometer pore size, 170 micrometer thickness, and hydrophobic polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) composition with 60 percent porosity. The filters must be plain white, smooth, unlaminated surfaces with an air flow rate of 9 liters per minute per centimeters squared, supplied in 100-pack quantities. The specification references ExpotechUSA, Inc. product number 1183403 or an equivalent alternative.
The document contains minimum general specifications for the required membrane filters without detailing pricing terms, contract duration, award timeline, or other procurement particulars. The specifications emphasize that the filters must be chemically inert and contain no layered or textured materials, indicating strict quality and performance standards necessary for accurate environmental monitoring data collection.
