About this file

This is an Insurance Requirements document issued by the Texas A&M Forest Service, a member institution of The Texas A&M University System, establishing minimum insurance coverage mandates for vendors conducting work under state and local contracts in Texas. The document outlines comprehensive insurance obligations that vendors must maintain throughout the contract term and beyond, with specific emphasis on protecting the Texas A&M University System and its associated entities. The insurance requirements apply to all vendors, their employees, and subcontractors performing services under any agreement with Texas A&M Forest Service, and coverage must remain in force until all services have been fully performed and accepted in writing by the agency.

Vendors are required to obtain and maintain multiple forms of insurance including Workers' Compensation (statutory benefits with $1,000,000 limits per accident and disease), Commercial Auto Liability ($1,000,000 combined single limit), Commercial General Liability ($1,000,000 per occurrence with $2,000,000 general aggregate), and Excess/Umbrella Liability ($5,000,000 combined total limits). All insurance must be provided by companies authorized to do business in Texas with A.M. Best ratings of A- or better (VII or better), written on an occurrence basis, and endorsed to name the Board of Regents and Texas A&M University System as additional insureds on a primary and non-contributory basis. Vendors must provide certificates of insurance and endorsements prior to contract execution and performance, with renewal certificates due within 30 days of policy anniversaries, and must provide 10 days' written notice prior to cancellation or material changes. Certificates should be submitted to the Certificate Holder at The Texas A&M University System, 301 Tarrow Street, College Station, Texas 77845, or via email to Blakely.snoe@tfs.tamu.edu.
