About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) document issued by the State of Texas related to the procurement of horses via auction or private treaty. The RFI seeks information from potential vendors regarding their capabilities and experience in supplying horses to meet the state's requirements. The document outlines the state's interest in understanding available sourcing options, vendor qualifications, pricing structures, and delivery capabilities for horses acquired through either auction channels or direct private treaty arrangements. Specific details regarding the exact quantity of horses needed, project timeline, response deadlines, and any scheduled bidder meetings or site visits should be referenced in the accompanying procurement documents or agency correspondence. The procurement seeks to establish a framework for acquiring horses that meets the state's operational and budgetary needs.

The RFI process is designed to gather market intelligence and vendor information prior to formal solicitation, allowing the state to refine specifications and procurement strategy. Key information typically addressed in such inquiries includes vendor experience with horse procurement, quality assurance measures, pricing models, delivery timelines, and any specialized certifications or capabilities. Respondents should provide detailed information regarding their sourcing networks, animal health certifications, transportation logistics, and references from previous government or institutional clients. Funding sources and budget allocations for the horse procurement will be determined based on the information gathered through this RFI process and the state agency's appropriations and operational requirements.
