About this file
This file is a technical specification document for traffic detection equipment, detailing four primary products manufactured by Wavetronix LLC for use in signalized intersection traffic management systems in Texas. The document provides comprehensive specifications for the SmartSensor Matrix (a 16-beam stop bar sensor with 90-degree field of view extending 140 feet), the SmartSensor Advance (a single-beam forward-fire intersection sensor with dynamic ETA tracking capability up to 600 feet), the Arc6 cabinet interface device (a six-sensor power and communications hub), and supporting infrastructure components including the SmartSensor Mount, Sensor Cable Junction Box, and SmartSensor 6-conductor Cable. All products are manufactured in the United States using surface mount and wave solder assembly processes with IPC-A-610C Class 2 compliance. The sensors operate across a temperature range of -29.2°F to 165°F and are designed for robust all-weather performance including rain, snow, freezing conditions, and dust exposure with minimal maintenance requirements.
Pricing information and contract terms are not specified in this document. The sensors carry a standard two-year limited warranty against material and workmanship defects, with extended warranty options available for purchase in one-year increments up to a five-year maximum. All products comply with relevant FCC regulations (47 CFR Part 15), NEMA standards (NEMA TS 2-2003 and NEMA TS2-2016), and CE safety certifications. The SmartSensor Advance offers detection accuracy of 98% for large vehicles and 95% for all motor vehicles, with range accuracy within 10 feet and speed accuracy within 5 mph for 90% of measurements. Training and technical support are available from Wavetronix representatives, including installation guidance, configuration assistance, and ongoing troubleshooting support with comprehensive documentation provided.

SmartSensor Matrix technical specifications
* While the system works with supply voltages of up to 28 VDC, 24 VDC supplies are recommended; the excess is designed to allow some tolerance on the out-put of the supply. To support 12 VDC battery systems, and if the cable is short enough, the sensor can accept a power supply as low as 10 VDC; however, this is dependent on cable length and wire gauge. Please consult Knowledge Base Article 0309, SmartSensor Matrix Cable Length Recommendations, for details.

Sensor Cable Junction Box
Junction box for splicing cables The sensor cable junction box provides connection between the sensor’s pigtail cable and the homerun cable to the cabinet. This box’s nine terminal blocks eliminate the need to pull a connectorized cable from the sensor to the cabinet. Its small size allows for an in-line connection that will fit in a hand hole.
NEMA type 4, 4x enclosure, providing a degree of protection against falling dirt, windblown dust, water, and ice
Insulation displacement terminal blocks for quick wiring
Small form factor for placement in traIc pole hand hole
Cable grips for water resistance
Same-side cable entry prevents cable path water trails from pooling on cable grip
Nine terminal blocks means that the box can be used with cables with nine or fewer conductors and drains, namely the Wavetronix
SmartSensor 6-conductor cable and the 8-conductor cable

God, and which occurred under normal use and service by the Purchaser, within two (2) years following shipment, the
Product will be repaired or replaced free of charge, except for any non-warranty items such as cabling, connectors, mounts or interfaces that are normally repaired or replaced during standard scheduled maintenance, which items shall be subject to a prorated charge based upon Wavetronix’ estimate of the percentage of normal service life realized from such replaced part.
