About this file

This is Addendum 01 to Invitation for Bid 802-26-75569 issued by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the procurement of a 16-foot custom aluminum boat, motor, and trailer package for law enforcement operations. The addendum, dated May 15, 2026, clarifies specifications regarding hull configurations for the jet-powered vessel and confirms that the solicitation maintains a performance-based approach allowing vendor flexibility in proposing standard production hulls suitable for the specified propulsion systems. The solicitation encompasses three 16-foot custom aluminum boats with associated motors and trailers, with two packages featuring 50-horsepower tiller-steered outboards and one featuring a 40-horsepower tiller-steered jet outboard. Bids are due by May 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM Central Time, with Patty Cardoza serving as the purchaser. The addendum specifies that vendors may propose various hull configurations including tunnel hulls, modified tunnels, intake relief, or standard jet-compatible designs, provided all performance requirements are met. Respondents are required to acknowledge receipt of the addendum and return a signed copy with their proposal submission.

The addendum addresses a clarification question regarding jet tunnel hull specifications, confirming that no specific tunnel hull configuration is mandated because manufacturers employ different engineering approaches and hull designs to support jet outboard performance. This performance-based approach permits vendors to leverage their standard production capabilities while ensuring compliance with all specified requirements for the intended propulsion systems.

Questions and Answers

1. Question: Why is the need for jet tunnel hull specifications (configurations) not listed in the specifications for the jet outboard powered hull?

Answer: The specifications do not prescribe a required tunnel hull configuration for the jet-powered vessel because manufacturers utilize different hull designs and engineering approaches to support jet outboard performance. The solicitation is performance-based and intended to allow vendors flexibility in proposing their standard production hulls that are appropriately designed for the specified propulsion package. The solicitation includes two vessels equipped with 50 HP tiller-steered prop-driven outboards and one vessel equipped with a 40 HP tiller-steered jet outboard. Vendors may propose hull configurations they determine are suitable for the intended propulsion system, whether tunnel hull, modified tunnel, intake relief, or standard jet-compatible hull design, provided the vessel meets all requirements outlined in the specifications.

Respondents are to acknowledge receipt of the Addendum and return a signed copy with proposal submission.
