About this file
This is Addendum #1 to RFP 2026-07 issued by ChildCareGroup Procurement Office for Handy-Man Services, clarifying specifications and addressing bidder inquiries. The services encompass large-scale facility maintenance work including repaints, fence repair and installation, welding, drywall repair, decking, and renovation services. Historical work volume indicates approximately 10-15 percent of total work orders can be subcontracted to handy-man services, with peak demand occurring during summer and winter/spring breaks when schools are closed and staff and children are not occupying buildings. The written questions deadline is April 29, 2026, at 5:00 PM Central Time, with proposals due May 18, 2026, at 5:00 PM Central Time. The contract will be for an initial one-year term with four optional one-year renewal periods contingent upon mutual agreement and satisfactory performance.
ChildCareGroup uses Zendesk for internal work order management; the selected vendor will receive work requests through the Facilities team rather than direct system access, though internal work order information will be shared. Pricing is submitted on a cost-per-man-hour basis for projects requiring one week or less, with larger projects billed at flat rates determined by the Facilities Director. The RFP awards evaluation points for MBE/WBE/HUB certifications and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) certifications, both of which are recognized in the evaluation criteria. Bidders must include a signed copy of Addendum #1 with their proposal; failure to do so may result in a non-responsive designation. Questions regarding this addendum should be directed to Anna Alvarez, Procurement Specialist, at aalvarez@ccgroup.org.

ADDENDUM #1
RFP No: 2026-07 RFP Title: Handy-Man Services Questions Deadline: April 29, 2026, at 5:00pm (CT) RFP Due Date: May 18, 2026, at 5:00pm (CT)
Addendum #1 is issued by the ChildCareGroup Procurement Office. Please see the following for changes/additions/deletions/and clarifications to the specifications:
Clarifications
Q1. Can you provide historical volume of work (work orders, service frequency, seasonal spikes) for the past 12–24 months?
A1. I would say about 10 -15 percent of our work order can be subbed out to Handy Man services. Peak times are during the summer and winter and spring breaks when schools are closed. These are times when services are used most as the children and staff are not in the buildings.
Q2. What challenges or gaps are you experiencing with your current facilities program or vendors?
A2. Handy Man services are primarily used for large scale repaints, fence repair/installation & welding, larger scale drywall repair, decking and renovation work.
Q3. What systems are currently used for work orders and reporting (ServiceChannel, Asset Essentials, etc.)?
A3. We use Zendesk internally, the selected vendor will not get work orders issued to them directly, communication for work requested will come from a member of the Facilities team. We will absolutely share the information on the work order but that is for internal CCG use only.
Q4. The RFP notes scoring for MBE/WBE/HUB certifications. Can you clarify if SDVOSB (Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business) certification is recognized within this category or considered elsewhere in the evaluation criteria?
A4. Yes, it will be considered.
Please sign below and include Addendum #1 with your proposal response. Failure to include the signed Addendum #1 may deem your proposal non-responsive.
