About this file
This is Amendment No. 1 to Bid No. IW246014, issued by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) Contracts and Procurement Department, clarifying product specifications for raw metal materials. The amendment addresses bidder questions regarding material specifications across eight line items, including clarifications on PVC coating applications, material dimensions, and product shapes. Specifically, the amendment confirms that Line 2 materials are unfinished and do not require PVC coating, Line 5 specifications are 18 gauge x 5 foot x 10 foot, and Line 8 materials are 3/4 inch diameter round stock. The solicitation maintains a bid opening date and time of April 3, 2026 at 3:00 PM. All bidders must acknowledge receipt of this amendment in their bid submissions to ensure consideration.
The amendment further clarifies that materials specified with PVC film coating should be evaluated assuming potential laser cutting applications. Bidders are required to reference the attached amendment pages when submitting bids. The contact procurement specialist for this opportunity is Candice Johnson. This solicitation is designated as an ESBD (Historically Underutilized Business) set-aside, restricting participation to vendors holding current ESBD certification status. No additional pricing, funding amounts, or contract term information is provided in the amendment documentation.

Question
No.
Question
Answer
1 IW246014-Raw Metal Materials.
While reviewing the product specifications in the solicitation documents, we noticed that some details do not appear to be clearly stated and would like to confirm them with you:
Item 2 does not mention "PVC COATING ON FINISHED SIDE" in the description.
Item 5 does not mention the overall size;
Item 8 does not mention "SHAPE:
ROUND" in the description.
Could you please clarify and confirm the above information?
Line 2 does not mention "PVC coating on finished side" because the material on this line is unfinished.
Line 5 lists the size as 18 gauge x 5 foot x 10 foot
Line 8 does not mention "shape :
round" but the size listed is 3/4 inch diameter. Only circles have a diameter.
2 We would like to confirm whether these sheets with a PVC film coating will ultimately be used for laser cutting or conventional board cutting, as this involves two different types of PVC coatings
As far as the lines specifying PVC coating and wanting to know if it is to be laser cut or board cut, please assume that it may be laser cut.
