About this file
This is a specification document issued by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for the procurement of one trailer-mounted air compressor for the Sugarland Special Jobs division in Highway District 12. The specification establishes minimum requirements for equipment that meets or exceeds performance standards including a diesel-powered, 4-cylinder engine with electric start; an operating pressure range of 80 to 200 PSIG; and a minimum free air delivery of 250 CFM. The trailer must feature single-axle, heavy-duty construction with electric brakes, safety chains, and a Bulldog 25/5 trailer connection. The compressor shall include a minimum of two individually controllable 3/4-inch air outlets and standard gauges for monitoring performance. An example of acceptable equipment cited is the Bobcat PA250V or equivalent models meeting the specification requirements.
The specification mandates that all equipment be new, latest-model production units of high-quality workmanship and material; used, refurbished, demonstrator, or discontinued models are not acceptable. Vendors must provide original manufacturer manuals with illustrated parts lists, operating instructions, and service information, along with certificates of origin and title. Equipment must comply with all applicable federal and Texas safety, health, lighting, and noise regulations in effect at the time of manufacture. The warranty requirement specifies a minimum of 12 months coverage against material and workmanship defects, including 100 percent parts and labor; if the manufacturer's standard warranty exceeds 12 months, that extended period applies. Vendors must provide all manufacturer warranty documentation to the designated TxDOT representative upon equipment delivery.
