About this file

This is an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the City of College Station for the Traffic Signals Fiber Expansion project (Bid Number 26-010). The city is seeking qualified contractors to submit bids for expanding fiber optic infrastructure at six separate traffic signal locations, which will involve installing conduit, control boxes, fiber optic cabling, and associated infrastructure. The project will require underground boring, using existing conduit, and aerial fiber installation on existing poles, with some locations requiring TxDOT permits and work within Right-of-Way areas. Bids are due by 2:00 p.m. CT on Thursday, October 30, 2025, and will be opened and read aloud at City Hall, with a virtual attendance option via Microsoft Teams. A pre-proposal meeting is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. CT on Friday, October 17, 2025, at City Hall's 3rd floor Fiscal Services Conference Room, which is highly recommended but not mandatory.

Bidding documents are available for download from the Brazos Valley e-Marketplace online Bidding Portal, and vendors must register to access solicitation documents, submit questions, and upload bids. Both electronic and hardcopy (original) bids will be accepted, but submissions received after the deadline will not be considered. Potential bidders must submit any written questions or clarification requests through the Q&A feature of the online Bidding Portal by Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. CT. The city emphasizes that bidders are solely responsible for ensuring their bids are successfully uploaded to the Bidding Portal prior to the official closing time.
