About this file
The document is a Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) Security and Privacy Inquiry (SPI) Form, revised in May 2024, designed to assess a vendor's security and privacy practices when handling confidential information. The comprehensive form requires vendors to provide detailed information about their privacy policies, security protocols, data handling procedures, and technical safeguards for protecting TWC's confidential data. Key areas of inquiry include written privacy and security policies, data processing locations, encryption methods, access control mechanisms, user authentication practices, and compliance with federal and state security standards like FedRAMP and TX-RAMP.
The form explores multiple dimensions of data protection, including data at rest, data in use, and data in motion, with specific questions about storage devices, user role-based access controls, encryption techniques, and protection of Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Vendors must detail their procedures for terminating access, sanitizing data after contract completion, managing subcontractors, and ensuring comprehensive security training. The questionnaire also requires vendors to explain their approach to privacy principles such as transparency, individual participation, purpose specification, data minimization, use limitation, data quality, and accountability, demonstrating TWC's rigorous approach to selecting vendors who can maintain the highest standards of data security and privacy.
