About this file
This document is a detailed Requirements and Specifications attachment for a solicitation (IFB No. 304T-26-830A1) issued by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts' Statewide Procurement Division for various storage tanks. The solicitation covers 12 line items including chemical storage tanks (polyethylene horizontal and elliptical leg tanks, a fiberglass tank), vertical asphalt storage tanks, and a frac storage tank. The tanks range in capacity from 500 to 12,600 gallons and are intended for brine, herbicide, and asphalt storage at various TxDOT locations statewide. Each tank type has extensive technical specifications covering dimensions, materials, construction details, accessories, electrical requirements, and performance standards.
The tanks are to be sourced from specific manufacturers or approved equivalents, such as Norwesco, Wylie, National Oilwell Varco, Dura Tank, Dragon, and Wichita Tank. The specification document provides comprehensive details on tank construction, including material requirements (high-density linear polyethylene, fiberglass, steel), wall thickness, insulation, coating, electrical systems, heating elements, pumps, valves, and additional features like safety ladders, manways, and measurement gauges. The tanks are designed for specific operational environments, including mobile service, atmospheric pressure storage, and ability to withstand various temperature ranges. Contractors are required to provide detailed technical documentation, including illustrated parts catalogs, operator's manuals, and service manuals with each tank unit.
