About this file

This document is a Scope of Work (Rider 101) for Heavy Duty Mobile Laboratory Casework and Associated Items, prepared for The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Facilities Planning Design and Construction Department (MD Anderson FPDC). The scope covers the procurement of modular laboratory casework systems, including support structures, table frames, countertops, shelves, mobile and suspended cabinets, framing channels, and electrical distribution strips. The document outlines detailed technical specifications for casework design, materials, dimensions, accessories, and installation requirements across multiple MD Anderson project locations, with estimated budgets ranging from $65,000 to $6.4 million and project completion dates between 11/2025 and 02/2028.

The contract emphasizes single-source responsibility, requiring all casework system components to be manufactured by a single manufacturer or authorized dealer. Key requirements include heavy-duty frame construction capable of supporting over one ton, modular and flexible design allowing future expansions, and comprehensive accessories like adjustable keyboard trays, task lighting, and horizontal electrical strips. The supplier must provide design and consultation services, handle delivery and installation, respond to service requests within 24 hours, and offer maintenance and operational training. Warranty coverage begins on MD Anderson's final acceptance of the casework, with specific provisions for returns, cancellations, and potential restocking fees for standard and custom items.
