About this file
This document is a Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) specification for purchasing a Video Detection System, dated March 2025, with specification number TxDOT 550-91-61192. The specification outlines requirements for a sophisticated traffic monitoring camera system to be delivered to the TxDOT Abilene District. The system must feature a color CMOS imaging sensor with 720p resolution, 10X optical zoom capability, remote zoom control, H.264 video compression, and Windows-based management software. Key functionalities include across-the-intersection detection, live video streaming, traffic flow data collection, and compatibility with traffic management center (TMC) networks.
The specification requires the vendor to provide complete installation services, including all necessary cables, brackets, and accessories, and to deliver a factory-trained technician for a minimum 4-hour training session on the system's operation and maintenance. The system must operate on 89-265 VAC, include up to 8GB memory storage, and support ethernet and WAN communication. The equipment comes with a minimum 12-month warranty covering 100% parts and labor, with potential for extension if the manufacturer's standard warranty is longer. An example make/model is provided (Econolite Video Detection System), and TxDOT will monitor vendor performance, with potential for both negative and positive performance evaluations based on delivery, service quality, and responsiveness.
