About this file
This document is an Addendum (Number 01) issued by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for Invitation for Bid (IFB) 802-25-55804 for a Boat, Motor, Trailer procurement, dated April 25, 2025. The addendum provides clarifications to the original solicitation, with a bid submission deadline of Tuesday, May 06, 2025, at 2:00 PM. The addendum addresses two specific questions related to technical specifications: one concerning operation labels for switches (light switches, bilge pump, winch, bow door) and another regarding fuel cell and fuel storage requirements.
The addendum clarifies that switch labels must indicate their specific purpose, and provides detailed guidance on the fuel tank system. The fuel sending unit should be mountable without removing the fuel tank, and the main fuel tank must be placed within a secondary containment chamber to control potential fuel spills. The single drain line is designed to direct any spilled fuel to the bilge pump for removal, creating a secondary fuel containment system. Respondents are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum by returning a signed copy with their proposal submission, ensuring they understand and will comply with the specified technical requirements.

Questions and Answers
1. Question: On page 3 section 3), subsection viii) Construction, Number (11) Operation labels. What do you mean by Operation Labels?
Answer: Switches need to be labeled for their purpose. All of the following need to be marked/labeled as to purpose: light switches, bilge pump, winch, bow door.
2. Question: On pages 3-4, under section, xi) Fuel type, Tank and Storage: (3) Fuel Cell shall be American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) approved polyurethane with external fuel sending device with single drain line to bilge of the boat. Could you provide a little clarity on this for the fuel tank? What are you meaning by external fuel sending device with single drain line to bilge of the boat?
Answer: The sending unit to show fuel level should be mounted in such a way that it can be changed without having to remove the fuel tank. The main fuel tank should be placed within a secondary containment chamber/ well. This is to control fuel that might be spilled or to collect fuel leaking from a damaged tank. The single line will drain the spilled fuel to the bilge pump where it will be pumped out of the boat instead of allowing the fuel to wash around the inside of the hull. This is a secondary fuel containment system.
Respondents are to acknowledge receipt of the Addendum and return a signed copy with proposal submission.
