About this file

This is a specification document from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for the procurement of an Environmental Thermal Chamber for their Materials and Tests Division. The specification details the requirements for a high-performance thermal testing chamber with a workspace volume of at least 16 cubic feet, capable of operating within a temperature range of approximately -31°C to +70°C. The chamber must feature a touchscreen controller, refrigeration gauges, an air-cooled refrigeration system, a full-opening lockable door, a heated viewing window, and an interior light. The vendor is required to provide complete installation, calibration, and a 4-hour training session for TxDOT personnel, with example models including the Thermotron Model S-16-8200 and Cincinnati Sub Zero Model ZPE-16-3.5-SCT/AC.

The specification includes comprehensive warranty requirements mandating that materials must be in current production, of high quality, and warranted against defects for at least 12 months covering 100% parts and labor. The vendor's performance will be monitored by TxDOT, with potential consequences for unsatisfactory performance including negative vendor reports or contract cancellation. The document also outlines potential positive performance recognition for early deliveries, product upgrades, exceptional customer service, and providing unsolicited technical assistance. All installation, training, and freight charges must be included in the unit price, and the equipment will be delivered to TxDOT's Materials and Tests Division at 6230 E. Stassney Ln in Austin, TX.
