2.0 INTRODUCTION AND OVERVIEW
The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) is requesting responses from qualified respondents who can provide a conference venue with parking and nearby hotel and food accommodations. Services shall be provided in the State of Texas.
2.1 Background
The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement conducts a law enforcement training conference annually. The purpose of the conference is to provide quality instruction to the participants which they can take back to their departments for dissemination. Many of the conference speakers are nationally known and cover a multitude of timely and pertinent law enforcement topics. It is also a conduit for TCOLE to pass on information on legislative and commission rule changes that affect the way law enforcement training in Texas is conducted.
Conference attendance grows annually and is attended by representatives from hundreds of different law enforcement agencies across the State of Texas. Additionally, there are more than 300 academies and training provider contract holders which, by contract, must send a representative to the conference. It is therefore necessary to have conference space that can hold up to 1,500 conference attendees with enough restaurants and hotel facilities nearby that can accommodate the attendees, speakers, and TCOLE staff.
Upcoming conference dates are flexible between September 1 to the first week in December (omitting the week of Thanksgiving). The conference will typically be 4 days total with Day 1 being a set up day and breakdown at the end of Day 4. A Day 5 may be added if needed.
3.0 SERVICES REQUIRED

4. Respondent does not prohibit the catering of food and non-alcoholic beverages.
5. Participants are on their own for lunch, so the venue shall either arrange to have food vendors to be on site to provide meal options or they would need to be located near multiple restaurants within easy walking distance that can accommodate the number of conference attendees.
3.0.2 Hotel Accommodations:
There needs to be enough hotels in the area of the conference venue to accommodate 1,500 attendees, TCOLE staff, speakers, and exhibitors.
