About this file

This is Amendment No. 1 to Bid No. IW202100 issued by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) Contracts and Procurement Department for Security Operations. The amendment provides clarification through a question and answer format regarding the procurement of canines, with bid responses due December 9, 2024 at 3:00 PM. The specifications indicate that dogs must be 1-3 years old, both male and female dogs are acceptable, and they will be single-purpose dogs imprinted for human odor detection in building searches. The handler course does not need to include tracking capabilities as the dogs will only be used for building and area searches. The National Narcotics Detector Dog Association (NNDDA) certification standard must be followed.

The amendment requires acknowledgment from bidders either on the face of their bid or by returning a signed copy of the notice. No pricing information, set-asides, incumbent information, or funding details are provided in this amendment. The document includes the TDCJ's mission statement and contact information for their Huntsville, Texas location.
