About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) Manufacturing, Agribusiness, and Logistics Department. The TDCJ is interested in purchasing Registered American Quarter Horses at auctions from October 2024 through August 2025. The horses must be a minimum of 14 hands tall, preferably have ranch/cattle working bloodlines, and pass a breeding soundness evaluation at the seller's expense. TDCJ is specifically interested in purchasing breeding stock, including mares born from 2010-2023 and stallions born between 2010-2023, that are registered with the American Quarter Horse Association, preferably with money earnings. Interested vendors must submit two catalogs and a letter with key auction details to the TDCJ contact. A TDCJ agent will inspect all animals before the auction, and supplements may be added with prior notification.

The document does not provide details on pricing terms, set-asides, incumbents, funding requirements or sources, or other salient commercial information. The focus is on the specific criteria and process for TDCJ to purchase Registered American Quarter Horses through auctions over the specified time period.
