About this file

This document is an Addendum 2 to a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by the University of Houston-Downtown for a "Primary Vendor for Print and Electronic Books." The RFP seeks proposals from vendors to provide a wide range of high-quality print and electronic books to support the varied academic and research needs of the University's students, faculty, and staff. The addendum provides answers to questions submitted by potential bidders regarding the scope of services, including clarification that the RFP is not seeking a vendor to operate a campus bookstore, equitable access program, or other services related to textbooks or textbook adoption. The RFP has an unspecified due date, and the contract term and any renewal options are not stated.

The addendum indicates that the University is not interested in discussing specific pricing models, auxiliary revenues, financial incentives, sales data, or other operational details related to campus bookstore services. The University is solely focused on selecting a vendor to provide print and electronic books, and any questions outside of that scope will not be addressed. There is no information provided regarding any incumbent vendor, funding sources, or set-asides.

1. [Vendor] is a digital content aggregator; as such, we do not provide any physical books or catalog and as an aggregator, we offer curated collections (specifically of comics, graphic novels and manga), not an e-book purchasing platform. Based on this information, should we consider putting in a bid, or based on our offering, should we pass on this opportunity because we are not within the scope of the RFP?

Answer: Your decision to respond is entirely at your discretion. If you choose to submit a response, we recommend providing information that closely aligns with the requirements outlined in the RFP.

2. Do you currently have an inclusive or equitable access program? If so, which model has been implemented and what is your current level of inclusive access or equitable access courses?

Answer: This question falls outside the scope of services covered by the RFP. We are not seeking to select a vendor for operating a bookstore, an equitable access program, or any services related to textbooks or textbook adoption.
