Deliverables
WSRCA is requesting two separate reports resulting from the data analysis.
Report #1 With Samsung coming to the Taylor community in Eastern Williamson County, there will be many impacts to the various industries and occupations supporting growth in that area. The report shall identify the impacts on the various industries and occupations supporting growth in the area, and will encompass the Austin MSA (Williamson, Travis, Bastrop, Caldwell and Hays Counties) as well as other adjacent counties that contribute to the labor shed. The report shall identify the skill sets needed to support the growth in both semiconductor and advanced manufacturing across the areas identified. The study should define the jobs needed for these two industries, but also quantify and define the indirect / support jobs that will be needed as a result of the growth of those two industries – such as: skilled trades, logistics, healthcare, early learning, etc.
The report shall also include pipeline data for each occupation and ancillary occupation identified that shows how many people are currently engaged in developing those skill sets, where they are coming from (from K12 system, current higher ed, military, etc.), and the timing of when the skill sets will be obtained to gauge the current supply and how to enhance those systems to improve the supply.
Report #2 The focus will be on the sectors of skilled trades, healthcare, advanced manufacturing and IT in our nine-county region of Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano and Williamson counties. The report shall address the six requested services listed above.
