About this file
This is a file related to a state and local contract opportunity issued by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) to replace the HVAC package units at the Cotulla Unit. TDCJ is requesting bids to purchase and install two 40-ton rooftop packaged HVAC units with various requirements including side return and supply airflow, high efficiency ratings, and integrated air purifiers. The new units will replace the existing 30-ton units. The scope also includes installing new thermostats, temperature/humidity sensors, and reconnecting the units to the existing controls, electrical, and gas piping. The vendor will be responsible for the final functionality and operability of the complete air conditioning system.
The vendor must inform TDCJ of the electrical requirements for the new units and coordinate with TDCJ for existing electrical testing results. The vendor will be required to provide startup, training, and warranty services. TDCJ personnel will perform some aspects of the work, including megging the existing electrical components and installing the units. The contract will be awarded to the qualified vendor that submits the responsive bid.
