About this file
This document contains the design criteria for facilities of the Texas Military Forces. It lists the construction program regulations, design guides, and various standards and guidelines that designers, engineers, and consultants must comply with when working on Texas Military Forces facilities. The document covers regulations and guides for areas such as fire protection, security, vaults, IT and communication, electrical, roofing, sustainable design and energy efficiency, architecture, and building codes and standards. It also outlines the applicable accessibility, historical architecture, and other industry standards that must be followed.
The related state and local contract opportunity is for the upgrade of two Class-5 vault doors located at the United States Property and Fiscal Office (USPFO) Camp Mabry in Austin, Texas. The project requires the vault doors to be upgraded to accommodate the movement of a pallet jack and to meet the Class 5-A armory vault doors rating. The contract is for the Travis County and Austin City jurisdictions.

Page | 1
The following is a list of documents intended to create a uniform approach to the design execution and maintenance of Texas Military Forces facilities. The following list is not all-inclusive. The list contains specific facility type information, general requirements, and best practices. The designer, engineer, and consultants must comply with elements required by law and meet the intent of the applicable guidelines as closely as possible within budget constraints.
Where the designer, engineer, or consultant is unclear about the application or purpose of the
Army regulations, they should submit a request(s) for interpretation in writing to the CFMO project ODR (Owner’s Designated Representative) for interpretation by the CFMO Design
Branch.
