Equipment Breakdown Sheet
1. Date item is needed: As soon as possible
2. Mission: (A task together with a purpose that clearly indicates an action to be taken) We are in need of a service cart the can decrease our aircraft turnaround time, reduce our down time and all but eliminate waste from cans. These special service carts can be towed to position, using a 50’ service hose both engines on one side can be serviced “Engine oil, Starter and the IDG”. Also we can use the cart to perform hydraulic system servicing, which requires 52 quarts of hydraulic fluid. IAW SSSN 12-80-02, 12-79-01, 12-24-01, and 12-29-00.
3. Mission statement:
a. What: SL250-24 Portable fluid Dispenser or Equal.
b. Why: The C-17 requires constant servicing. Currently Jets is having to use different platforms to service engines, but it can be done with one cart. Sortie Support issues out about a case of Engine oil a week producing a lot of waste from cans, not to mention hydraulic fluid. These numbers will only increase as our flying increases. This cart was specifically designed for C-17 use and the concept was built in Jackson MI.
