Statement of Work (SOW)

Data Collection Platform with Water Quality Meters and Accessories

Overview of Requirement:

The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires a Data Collection Platform with Water Quality Meters and Accessories to be used in Water Quality Studies. The data collection platform with water quality meters and probes is needed to conduct remote sampling with real-time data to make environmental decisions to the quality of water. The unit will be used in shallow streams throughout New England in areas were the other existing buoys cannot be deployed due to depth and security. This package consists of two water quality instruments with optical probes for dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll, blue-green algae and CDOM. The physical housing of the unit is a waterproof locking box, antenna, solar panel, battery, data collector and cable. Probes and accessories are needed for general water quality measurements including: accurate profiling of the water column: long term deployment and spot checking in the field. The data collection platform with probes and accessories will be used in 2012 on the Great Bay Survey in the Dover, New Hampshire area to track the low dissolved oxygen wedge that comes up the river during flooding tide cycles and retreats on a presumed daily basis. The data produced will be used by multiple groups in the New Hampshire Seacoast area to track real-time water quality issues that include water quality classification as well as to determine if recreational activity is acceptable. The unit may also be used on the Assabet River to monitor for a potential algae bloom as well as other water quality studies as they develop in 2012.
