About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Massachusetts Department of Correction (DOC) to elicit responses from vendors who can provide information to assist in developing a potential future solicitation for the installation of a visual and/or tactile Emergency Notification System (ENS) at twelve (12) state correctional facilities. The primary goal of the ENS is to provide visual and/or tactile emergency notification to the 675 hearing impaired incarcerated individuals under the DOC's care and custody. The DOC is seeking responses that address the general specifications, system feature descriptions, and equipment specifications for the ENS, as well as the ability to integrate the system with incarcerated individual tablets, the existing MATV system, and the fire alarm system. Responses to this RFI are due by 2:00 PM EST on February 23, 2024.
The RFI requests that prospective manufacturers provide product data and specifications that conform to the minimum requirements outlined in the document. Respondents must provide documentation of at least 10 continuous years of experience supplying networked systems in the institutional market, with a focus on correctional facilities. The RFI also requires respondents to provide an equipment component pricing list, including pricing for each component, annual service subscriptions, on-premises software licensing, and any optional hardware/software add-ons. The DOC is under no obligation to incorporate any materials, comments, or recommendations made in an RFI submission into any future solicitation.
