About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center for the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) Main Oscillator (MO). NASA is seeking capability statements from interested parties, including small businesses and minority-owned firms, to determine the appropriate level of competition and small business subcontracting goals for the LISA MO acquisition.

The MO is a key component of the LISA laser heads, which will be used to form optical interferometers between the three LISA spacecraft to measure gravitational waves. NASA is seeking vendors to design, fabricate, align, test, and deliver engineering models, qualification models, flight models, and flight spares of the LISA MO. The RFI provides details on the technical requirements, quantities, and environmental testing needed. NASA is also requesting information on programmatic, technical, and logistical challenges, supply chain issues, recommended acquisition strategies, and previous experience with similar space hardware. Responses are due by September 6, 2024, and NASA plans to publicize a list of respondents to facilitate teaming arrangements.
