ATTATCHMENT B
SPECIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
1. AMMUNITION (AM02), .22 CALIBER LR ELEY ULTIMATE TENEX.
1.a. BULLET: 39.8 Grain lead flat-nose with small raised center tip.
1.b. PRIMER: Factory specifications.
1.c. POWDER: Powder which produces chamber pressure which does not exceed Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute Standards (SAAMI) for .22 caliber ammunition
1.d. CARTRIDGE LENGTH: Overall length not to exceed .945 inches when measured from tip of the bullet to the base of the cartridge.
1.e. MUZZLE VELOCITY: Muzzle velocity must average at least 1050-1100 feet per second (FPS) (plus or minus 15 FPS) measured at ambient temperature.
1.f. Bid samples for accuracy testing shall be 200 rounds per lot per FAR 52.214-20(d)1 & 52.212-1(d) Bid Samples.
1.g. All ammunition provided will be from the same production run.
1.h. ACCURACY STANDARDS: Five groups, ten-round shot per group, shall be fired at 50 meters. Average extreme spread of 10 round groups shall not exceed 15mm’s.
Measurements are to be computed from outside to outside of the widest shot in each of the ten round shot group.
1 i. CARTRIDGE LOT ACCEPTANCE: Cartridge samples from existing production lots will be tested by USAMU Prior to acceptance of each production lot. Lot acceptance samples will be 200rds. Cost for lot acceptance samples will be inclusive in contract, if awarded.
1.j. TESTING REQUIREMENTS: All candidate ammunition will be fired through an Anschutz Model 54 or 2000 series with 22LR match barrel.
1.k. FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Candidate ammunition must burn clean and leave no residue. Testing will be conducted by USAMU personnel utilizing test weapon described above and associated equipment.
1.l. No lot shall be less than 10,000 rounds with 5000 rounds per case.
