The addendum provides questions and answers regarding recycling services at two SCO locations: 3301 C Street (The Park) and 10600 White Rock Road (WRR). The services include both in-house and dockside recycling collection, with specific requirements for bin quantities and sizes - The Park requires 29 one-yard bins for in-house service and 5 six-yard bins for dockside service, while WRR requires 6 one-yard bins for in-house service.

Addendum 1 to Invitation for Bid - (IFB) EADM90624, Recycling Services

The purpose of this addendum is to notify potential bidders of the State Controller's Office response to questions and answers received for IFB EADM90624.

Questions and Answers

1. Can you provide more details regarding the existing vendor (if any):

a. Who is the existing service provider?

b. What are their existing rates per service?

c. How long does it take the current vendor to collect in-house recycle?

Response: The current vendor is Southside Recycling and the Agreement is for $110,000. The existing rates per service are $292 per in-house service and $169 per dockside service. It takes the current vendor 60-75 minutes at 3301 C Street (The Park) and 30-45 minutes at the 10600 White Rock Road (WRR) to collect in-house recyclables.

2. Does SCO have their own recycling bins in-house or does the vendor need to provide those?

a. If vendor needs to provide bins, can you let us know what size and quantity for each location both in-house and dockside

Response: Vendor must provide bins to SCO for in-house and dockside services. In-house services require one-yard bins and Dockside services require five six-yard bins. Currently, The Park has 29 bins for in-house service, while WRR has 6 bins for in-house service. The Park also has 5 bins for Dockside services. Refer to Exhibit A. Scope of Work, Section 2. Contractor Responsibilities, Item D.

3. For dockside collection, what type of bins are acceptable? For example, would SCO be okay with a thick plastic container measuring 48x40x36, weight capacity up to 5,000 lbs for cardboard etc?

Response: For Dockside services the 48x40x36 bin dimensions will fit. The Contractor will need to provide bins equivalent to what SCO currently has in use.

4. For dockside collection, is the area fenced/gated off from pedestrian/homeless access?

Response: The Dockside service area is not gated. SCO has a camera surveillance system and foot patrols to regularly monitor the area.

All other information will remain the same.

Thank you, SCO Bids
