3.0 ITEM LOCATION/DESCRIPTION:

3.1 Location: Throughout the ship

3.2 Description: Refer to para. 7.0.

4.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT/MATERIAL/SERVICES: None.

5.0 NOTES

5.1 The contractor and all subcontractors regardless of tier are advised to review Reference 2.1 to determine its effect on the work required under this specification. Many of the definitions relating to performance of this specification are found in this reference.

6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: None additional.

7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED:

7.1 Accomplish megger testing of all electrical motors and generators identified in Reference 2.2. Provide and as found condition report with a typed listing of each motor, associated megger readings, and any recommended repairs for each.

7.2 Accomplish megger testing of Circuit T-06 (LDP 102) from the switchboard to end devices utilizing reference 2.3 as guidance.

Also inspect the ground detection device. This circuit currently is showing a partial ground on the switch board. Submit an as found condition report with recommendations.

7.3 Renew the electrical connection box mounted on the side of the 01

clean, dry, compressed air, all dust, dirt, film, etc., from all internal electrical/electronic components and all interior surfaces of subject switchboards.

7.4.2 Work in the main switchboard will require that the

ship’s power be secured. Cleaning is to be coordinated with the Port Engineer, and is to be conducted on a Saturday. Contractor is to provide their own temporary lighting, ventilation, generator and other required equipment to accomplish this work while power is secured.

7.4.3 Cleaning is to be accomplished in such a manner as to

mitigate re-contamination of cleaned areas.

7.4.4 Workers are to be grounded to the enclosures to prevent damage to circuitry.

7.4.5 Open up switches, rheostats and breaker enclosures, vacuum, wipe down, clean blow dry and close up units per original.

7.4.6 Next, clean by wiping all interior surfaces, wiring, bus bars, and circuit breakers.

7.4.7 The use of cleaning solvents, the type of cleaning

solvents, and what components are being cleaned with solvents of any type is to be coordinated with the Port Engineer prior to use of such materials. No solvents or chemicals containing chlorides will be permitted.

7.4.8 Cleaning is to be accomplished with lint-free rags.

7.4.9 Visually inspect all electrical connections and

components.

7.4.10 Dress up and tighten bus bars, lug connections, terminals, relays, trips, and all contact points and tighten all electrical connections using torque wrenches to match rated torque values for various sized bolts, screws, and other fittings. Use extraordinary care and do not over-tighten connections. See Reference

2.4 for reference.

7.4.10.1 Provide calibration documentation for each torque

wrench on the job site.

7.5 Apply two coats of primer and one surface coat of paint to match surrounding areas.
