1) RFQ Section 1.7 Pre Delivery Conference is updated to state:
1.7 SITE VISIT--**MANDATORY**
A. Prior to response date and time, the Contractor shall schedule a job site inspection to observe actual conditions and verify all dimensions. This is meant to assist with site work planning (foundations an, electrical, logistical, etc.). The COTR may agree to complete this remotely without if all site conditions and concerns are listed.
Access to the site prior to the RFQ closing date the Contractor must contact the owner’s representative, Tania Lewandowski at 508.495.2264 to coordinate a date and time. The site visit must be confirmed at least 48 (two (2) working days) hours in advance of intended site visit.
2) Vendor Question 2 Amendment 0002: The RFQ Section 1.2, page 3 of 39 specifies a Freezer/Chiller that is approximately 10’x 46’; page 4, Item b., specifies compartment dimensions of approximately 12’ freezer and 26’ cooler. If 14” is added for the wall thickness the total length of the combo unit will be approximately 10’ x 41’ (not the 10’x46’). I want to confirm that the cooler compartment dimension is correct in your RFQ.
Government Response Vendor Question 2: Yes, it is correct. The total external length is approximately 46 feet.
The cooler section representing approximately 30 feet and the freezer section representing approximately 16 feet.
Internal dimensions would be expected to be slightly smaller to accommodate wall thickness as needed.
3) Vendor Question 3 Amendment 0002: The addition of frame mounted generators to the Freezer Walk-in unit would add approximately 3’ to the box length, is that acceptable?
Government Response Vendor Question 3: Interior and exterior mounting will be considered, but must be accompanied by associated pricing and schematics.
4) Vendor Question 4 Amendment 0002: The refrigeration redundancy specified for the freezer and freezer compartment, we will include controllers to exercise the systems on a specified frequency; is this acceptable?
Government Response Vendor Question 4: Additional descriptive information for available options and associated pricing/electrical needs/schematic are appreciated and desired.
5) Vendor Question 5 Amendment 0002: Will the units be placed in close proximity to each other on one pad, or do you require separate concrete pads? And if separate pads, what is the estimated distance between them?
Government Response Vendor Question 5: Yes. Please see Attachment A-Map of NEFSC Facility. The location for the new Freezer/Chiller unit and Freezer trailer will be same to the current locations. One cement pad is preferred.
6) Vendor Question 6 Amendment 0002: The Government requested a 9’ ceiling in the walk-in freezer for the added working height for hanging mammals on the meat rail; and an 8’ ceiling was specified for the combination cooler/freezer. With the added height to the units, will shelf-mounted or frame-mounted refrigeration systems be acceptable?
Government Response Vendor Question 6: All options will be considered.
7) Except for the changes made herewith, all other terms, conditions and provisions remain unchanged and in full force and effect.
