PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT
Performance Work Statement (PWS) Service Contract for 2 Agilent HPLCs, 1 Agilent GC/MS Instrument, and 1 Agilent GC Instrument
Introduction A service contract for 2 separate Agilent HPLC Instruments (1260 Infinity and 1200 model), 1 Agilent GC/MS instrument and 1 Agilent GC instrument is needed for continued operation of these instruments. These are patented instruments and only a certified company capable of support, maintenance, or upgrades to ensure manufacturing specifications are maintained is required.
Mission The Environmental Processes Branch (EPP) of the ERDC Environmental Laboratory supports customer/stakeholder decision making for the Corps, the Army, and the DOD by providing research and technical expertise in the area of toxicology, systems biology, conservation, microbiology, soil science and beyond. The Environmental Microbiology Team (EMT) study how microbes can be used in remediation of contaminated sites. The main goal of the EMT is to determine the optimal microbes and/or enzymes from microbes are optimal in remediation of contaminated sites.
A service contract for both of the Agilent HPLC instruments, 1 Agilent GC/MS instrument and 1 Agilent GC instrument will enable the EMT to continue meeting project goals.
Background
The US Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Environmental Laboratory (EL), Environmental Processes Branch (EP-P) requires means to monitor how stressors and/or contaminants impact microbes, insects, birds, and mammals; how microbes can be used to remediate contaminated sites, and the fate and transport of contaminants through the environment. Instrumentation such as HPLC and GC/MS allow EPP researchers to determine the amount of compound in an environmental sample before and after remediation using microbes.
Maintenance Agreement This service contract should include all repair, service technician labor and travel, parts, consumables, and supplies as well as one planned preventative maintenance service per year. The service contract should cover the instruments in the following table.
