Re: Response to Questions; Southwest Region Multifamily Construction Inspection Services Request for

Proposal DU205NC-15-R-0010

Prospective Offerors, The government is providing responses to the following questions:

Question #1: How many task orders are initiated simultaneously at a time under this contract in the Southwest?

Response: There isn’t a definitive number regarding the number of task orders the government may initiate simultaneously. The contract is an Indefinite-quantity contract which allows the government flexibility in both quantities and delivery scheduling, and the ability to order construction inspection services after requirements materialize. (See Federal Acquisition Regulation subparagraph 16.501-2(b)(2)(i) and (ii)) The government will issue task orders according to Section I clause FAR § 52.216-19 –Order Limitations.

Question #2: Can you give the percent-estimates of how many of the sites are currently under pre-construction, how many under construction, and how many under post-construction?

Response: Twelve is the number of projects in the Southwest (SW) Region under pre-construction (firms issued) but not initially endorsed. One hundred and six is the number of projects in the SW Region under construction or sub-rehabilitation (initially endorsed). Forty-five projects in the SW Region are under warranty (9 and 12 month warranty will be only on limited situations, based construction situation, and inspector recommendation to

Government Technical Monitor and concurrence with Government Technical Representative for any inspections).

Question #3: Can you give us a sense of how many units or how big are the units at each site?

Response: The average number of units per project range between 100-250 units; however, certain areas within the

SW Region may impact the number of units such as rehabs and older projects. On the average, the units are between 900-1000 square feet; however, the owner, type of unit such as market rate or Section 8 and location within the SW Region may influence the unit size.

Thank you for your interest in HUD contracting.

Sincerely, Gene Hamilton Jackson

Contracting Officer
