Amendment No. A0001

1. The purpose of this Amendment is to provide a response to the question received in response to the RFP.

2. The question, with the corresponding answer, is as follows:

Q.1. Can you clarify what count as “traffic safety purpose”? For example, will use of aggregate level data be of interest to you?

A.1 The Offeror raises two different questions, which are addressed separately below:

Regarding traffic safety purposes, the RFP states, “Within traffic safety, the emphasis will be on license offenses, including revoked, suspended, or restricted licenses.” Our primary interest in ALPRs is if/how ALPRs are being used to reduce these types of license offenses, particularly with regard to license offenses linked to impaired driving offenses, e.g. , law enforcement efforts to reduce impaired driving by using ALPRs to identify convicted DUI offenders still driving while on revoked, suspended, or restricted licenses. The same would apply to using ALPRs for other safety areas, such as speeding.

Regarding aggregate data, all types of data are potentially useful in studying this issue. In Offerors’ proposals, they need to talk about the specific types of data and data elements they would need/like to have to examine this issue, the types of data they expect to be readily available, and how they propose to use these types of data and data elements in their study of ALPRs.

3. Please acknowledge receipt of this Amendment with the submission of your proposal.

4. All other terms and conditions of the Solicitation remain unchanged.
