AMENDMENT 1
The purpose of this amendment is to provide responses to the following set of questions received from interested firms.
1. QUESTION: As the majority of work will be civil engineering and there is some non-civil work anticipated to be performed, will Volpe look to make some awards to firms that specialize in areas outside of civil engineering, such as in systems (communications, power, signaling/train control) or does Volpe prefer single teams comprised of firms that could perform civil, systems, and all other required disciplines?
RESPONSE: Any award(s) made as a result of this solicitation will require the knowledge and expertise to address all technical requirements identified in the presolicitation notice.
2. QUESTION: The solicitation listed seven sample functional areas. Do responding firms/teams need to possess expertise in minimum number of functional areas?
RESPONSE: Responding firms/teams are expected to possess expertise in all functional areas identified in the presolicitation notice.
3. QUESTION: Are any of the anticipated requirements for follow-on work that was begun under another contract vehicle?
RESPONSE: No
4. QUESTION: If selected, will task orders be assigned or would all selectees be required to submit a competitive quote for each task?
RESPONSE: It is anticipated that each task order will be competed unless an exception to fair opportunity applies.
5. QUESTION: Is there a DBE/WBE participation goal?
RESPONSE: Small Business Goals will be identified under the Request for Proposal (RFP).
