Save any new or modified control data and programs affected by this performance specification to the Alarm & Monitoring and Propulsion Control Systems to Chief Engineers computer and disk and back up to other computers in system with log date of action.
Provide Chief Engineer with a back-up disk of Propulsion Control, Alarm and Monitoring, and Ballast Control system programs.
Deck Control System (DCS) & Ballast Control System (BCS) CONSOLE Check and confirm that both GB1 and GB2 computers have appropriate programs and set-points throughout, are set up properly for Alarm (GB2) and Bell Logger (GB1) screen and printer functions on system boot-up.
Test function and confirm that both GB1 & GB2, and Ballast Control are networked with short-cuts, Chief Engineer’s and Chief Mate’s offices.
Confirm written instructions for set-up of web-viewer for vessel intranet enabled computers.
Note: Some or all parts of this may be covered by the CLIN #3 – EOS Upgrade
PROPULSION CONTROL
Test operate, and inspect all I/P controllers, 3-way valves and actuators for BME propulsion control system.
Engineer should force actuators through full range in testing and observe ouput.
Report on findings.
Test operate all TMS systems with vessel crew and specifically observe and report on operation of all systems worked on and modified.
WORK ITEMS
Work items TMS to repair prior to or after COI:
· Provide two (2) spare analog input modules for I/O Field Bus. CARD, ANALOG CURRENT IN 16 PT P/N: IC670ALG240-JC
1. Spares may be used surplus but each must be installed and proved to be in working order.
· Provide Alarm Indication at startup of any the three ship’s fire pumps.
1. Indication to be driven from Ballast PLC and to indicate which pump is running on both GB1 and GB2 alarm screens.
1. DCS: I/O 7, block 12. Fails intermittently but can be repaired by “pushing block in toward backplane.” Nothing is loose.
1. PCS: New odd control issue that has occurred on several occasions. SME will not shutdown reset UNTIL you shift to local. This happened first to me on Astern test into Baltimore as we took arrival and I walked in. Lyle and I were staring to think it only comes at fast standby, but I now recall it occurred after a start failure on Astern.
1. PCS: Above was exacerbated by PME stop cylinder solenoid sticking (so it wouldn’t reverse. It would stop if you whacked it. Lyle seems to have fixed by freeing up the core of the solenoid coil (??).
1. DCS: Main Engine charge air pressure on screen (boost or inlet air). Does not look anything like gauges at 10-12 psi at full load. Units appear to be different between the two engines (PSI, inches, …of what?, ???). essentially useless.
1. There may be a few pump buttons or acknowledge buttons/lights that need renewal, but you can look at.
DELIVERABLES
Provide Chief Engineer 2 copies of a typewritten report of findings, repairs and modifications made to systems.
Provide COTR with electronic copy of all work accomplished and any modifications made to the systems Included in report shall be network addresses of all computers in systems Parts for TMS or related items found during course of job
